Winter Design project for The Shilla Duty Free Store
For the 2015 holiday season, The Shilla Duty-Free partnered with BearBetter, a company known for employing individuals with developmental disabilities. We featured a unique BearBetter character as the central theme of our winter festival, adorning both the interior and exterior of our stores with this character. Special seasonal customer gift items, including prepaid cards, a passport cover, a coffee mug, and badges, were designed. Additionally, we set up photo zones complete with giant Christmas trees and sculptures to enhance the festive atmosphere. A Salvation Army charity pot was also placed in these zones to encourage donations to the community.
Work Process
As a member of the design team, we developed a design concept for the holiday season. After finalizing the main concept, we brainstormed various decoration ideas for specific areas within the stores. Over a period of three months, I created sketches and floor plans, which were then passed on to the manufacturer to produce the actual installations. My responsibilities also included sourcing art materials and overseeing each stage of the process.
Final Design
Not only were stores in Korea decorated with a Christmas theme, but our overseas stores in Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong were also adorned with the same concept, allowing customers to enjoy the Christmas spirit universally.
